Swedish Hospital OBGYN Department

Swedish Hospital has one of the busiest and most beloved OBGYN practices in the city of Chicago. Their mission is to make all women feel welcome, comfortable and well cared for no matter who they are or reason of their visit.  

The doctors and care teams at Swedish Hospital have always made patients feel comfortable and cared for but the physical environment of their practice didn’t measure up to their heart and souls of care. It was time to do something different. We understood the challenges of multiple, cramped and inefficient waiting areas as well as exam rooms that felt typical, uninteresting and clinical.  Unfortunately this physical experience is very typical of healthcare settings today with little that has really been done to help minimize patient anxiety along the journey.  

However here, that all changes now. That experience is in the past. In 2019, the hospital engaged ROLD to design and deliver one of the most beautiful, comfortable and state of the art departments the city has yet to see. ROLD embraced the challenge and, in 2020, will deliver a space where patients feel special, safe and happy. As part of the process, we replace typical harsh lighting and bare walls with warm, ambient lights and wonderful window views. The colors and textures of this new space will truly bring warmth, energy and intimacy to the spaces that will calm minds, bodies and souls.   

Our unwavering commitment to Swedish Hospital and the community of people they serve, is that when their guests arrive, they will feel more like they are stepping into a gorgeous hotel lobby with music and views and less like a clinical practice. The space will convey the purpose of the practice and compliment the warmth and care provided by the outstanding doctors and staff everyday.
